No kidding, tried the “nice way” didn’t work. Place the sucka on the ground and gave it 2 excellent stomps and voila back in action. Thanks!
@youngzbaron Eventually it worked, but kept reverting to broken. I had to hold down the screen to keep it working. Then I meant my thumb a small to the left of the bottom right corner of the screen. Maybe just above where the “escape” or “back arrow” key meets the “end call” key. Now it works and has not gone back to garbled since I did this. I no longer need to hold down on the screen. You have saved my phone (and my wallet), muchas gracias to the original poster!
@youngzbaron the reason why the screen goes colorless is, when the screen is on, its generates heat making a loose connection inside.. when the phone is cooled down the screen goes back to normal.. my advise is, take the back off the phone and exposing the battery (whilst on but locked so that the screen is black) and place on a cold glass surface … either that or expose to a cool fan or general cold air. it is highly irritating. blackberry should fix the problem. hope this helps
@youngzbaron
thanks so much ; whenever my screen goes colorless again ijust press p many times and it works i do it quite a lot though but at least it works thank you very much <3
My blackberry 9780 has the same problem I tried the p trick it worked for like 4 seconds then it went back to being colorless
It costs about 70 dollars to fix
I have this issue. Its an issue with the connector where the LCD flex cable meets the motherboard. This is located approximately where the ‘end call’ button is. When mine goes colorless, i press the top key lock so the screen goes off, then i press down the screen right above ‘end call’, and the epistle ‘P’, in hopes of wiggling the connector in the phone, can take several tries, after each press take keylock off to try and see if screen is back to normal. dont press end call as it lights screen.
holy shit this actualy worked :s but it goes back to being colorless after a few minutes… i have to repeat the process everytime i wanna unlock my phone?!
I have to take my battery out, place it back in and push my thumbs into the bottom corners really hard and then it works until I lock it again :\ and then it goes back to colorless screen… at least I can use it when I want to though, but I reckon the only real, long term solution is to take it in for repairs.
